Fleet powers device management in Primo. Your subscription includes Fleet Premium, and Primo hosts, maintains, and updates your Fleet instance. Use the Fleet console for advanced queries and policies; everything else is available in the cockpit.
Don’t change a setting in Fleet that a Primo control manages, for example OS settings, disk encryption, the Recovery Lock password, or OS updates. The two conflict, and devices can end up with a different setting than the one the cockpit shows. Change these settings from MDM > Controls in the cockpit, and keep the Fleet console for queries and policies.

Hosts

  • What it does: The “Hosts” tab provides an overview of all devices in your fleet, displaying essential details such as device status, certificates, and inventory.
  • How it helps IT admins: Quickly assess the health and compliance of devices, and act on issues before they spread.
  • Configuration tips: Customize the displayed columns to focus on the most relevant information for your organization. Filter by device type or status for easier management.

Controls

  • What it does: The “Controls” tab shows the OS updates, OS settings (such as disk encryption, configuration profiles, and passwords), and scripts that apply to your devices.
  • How it helps IT admins: Check what a device received and whether it applied, for example when a Primo control reports an error.
  • Configuration tips: Primo sets these from its controls. Make changes in the cockpit, under MDM > Controls, not in this tab.

Queries

  • What it does: The “Queries” tab allows admins to execute SQL-like queries across devices to gather real-time data on system status, installed applications, and more.
  • How it helps IT admins: Run detailed reports and monitor fleets to identify issues or compliance gaps quickly.
  • Configuration tips: Use predefined queries for common tasks, and schedule queries to run at regular intervals for ongoing monitoring.

Policies

  • What it does: The “Policies” tab allows admins to define and enforce rules across devices, such as compliance checks and automated responses to specific conditions.
  • How it helps IT admins: Automate compliance management and remediation actions to reduce admin work and improve security.
  • Configuration tips: Create policies that match your organization’s security requirements. Use the webhook feature to send alerts to your existing ticketing systems.
