This article explains when Zero-Touch Deployment (ZTD) is available for devices ordered through Primo, and how to configure Apple Business Manager (ABM) or Microsoft Entra so that devices are automatically enrolled on delivery.
Understand why ZTD depends on local keyboards
Zero-Touch Deployment relies on supplier accreditations that are region-dependent:
- Mac devices require enrollment through Apple Business Manager (ABM)
- Windows devices require enrollment through Microsoft Autopilot
Only suppliers accredited in a given region can provide these services, and they are authorized to deliver devices exclusively with the local keyboard configuration of that region.
When a non-local keyboard is selected, the order is routed to a different supplier that is not accredited for ZTD — making Zero-Touch Deployment unavailable.

In Primo, go to Settings → Orders.

Under Zero-Touch Deployment, click Apple.

Choose the country(ies) for which you want to enable Zero-Touch procurement, and copy the Reseller ID(s).

Go to Apple Business Manager, click your account name at the bottom left, and select Preferences.

Select Organisation Information. Copy your Organisation ID and paste it into the cockpit.

Under Device Management Services, select Management Assignment. Next to Customer Numbers, click Edit.

Add the Reseller ID(s).

In Primo, activate the toggle to finalize.
Step 1: Authorize the reseller to register future devices
- In Primo, go to Settings → Orders.
- Under Zero-Touch Procurement, click Windows.
- Select the country or countries where you want to enable Autopilot procurement, then click Authorize our reseller.
- Follow the displayed instructions.
- A confirmation screen will indicate that the partner relationship has been successfully created.
- Log in to the Azure portal and search for Microsoft Entra ID.
- Copy your Tenant ID and Primary Domain and paste them into the cockpit.
- Activate the configuration toggle to finalize the integration.
Select keyboard layout when ordering
When ordering a device through Primo, keyboard selection determines ZTD eligibility.
Local keyboard (recommended)
Automatically applies the standard keyboard for the delivery country. Ensures the order is handled by a ZTD-authorized supplier.
Examples:
- France → AZERTY
- Belgium → QWERTY BE
- Germany → QWERTZ DE
- United Kingdom → QWERTY UK
- United States → QWERTY US
Specific keyboard layout
Available options: QWERTY US, QWERTY UK, QWERTY International, QWERTZ, Spanish QWERTY, AZERTY.
Selecting a keyboard layout that is not local to the delivery country disables Zero Touch Deployment.

Frequently asked questions
Why is ZTD unavailable with QWERTY International in France?
ZTD depends on supplier accreditations tied to specific regions. In France, only suppliers providing AZERTY keyboards are accredited for Apple ABM or Microsoft Autopilot. Selecting a non-local keyboard routes the order to a different supplier that is not authorized for ZTD in that region.
Can I order devices in France with QWERTY US keyboards?
Yes, two options are available:
- Place a standard order without ZTD — select QWERTY US. Devices will be delivered ready to use, without Zero-Touch Deployment.
- Submit a special request (longer lead time) — add a comment to your order requesting “QWERTY US + ABM”. Primo will check availability with suppliers. Expected lead time: 3 to 4 weeks.
Does selecting “AZERTY” always enable ZTD?
No. If you manually select AZERTY for a delivery outside France, ZTD will not be available. The order will not be handled by a France-based, ZTD-authorized supplier. To ensure ZTD eligibility, always select Local keyboard rather than a specific layout.
